and we're back =(

WOOOOO!! So fun! I miss Taiwan and my TAKOBALLS already!! TW's definitely more interesting than HK! HK is literally another singapore and i wasnt impressed at all. Taiwan is so much fun! Although the streets are quite dirty/old and everything seems disorganized, but i think that's wat make it so much more interesting. It really take damn good driving skills to be able to drive in Taiwan, lotsa scooters and cars changing lanes with no warning.. woah! and yes left hand driving..

Summary of Day One
- Love SIA! Watched Guess Who(quite nice) and My boyfriend is Type B(korean, not very nice, didnt finish it though..) onboard the 4 and a half hr flight there
- Our hotel's(Rainbow hotel) location is uber cool and convenient cos it's right in the middle of XiMenDing! Shop shop and we meet up Box's Taiwanese friend for dinner.
- Tried Mango ice, sotongballs, Fried Sweet potato balls, Ma La steamboat

Day Two
- YehLiu Fishermen Wharf
Our plan was to go to Yehliu where we could see all the rocks formation and Ocean world. We took the train to Danshui but we realised we need another 2 hours of bus journey to Yehliu from there!?! So we decided to change plan and go to Fishermen Wharf instead. Weather was really hot, We were approached by a lady to go on a scenic boat ride around Fishermen Wharf, there's nothing much to do there so we went along with it. We each bought a huge bowl of "Chua ping" aka fruit ice(like ice kachang) and happily went onboard.. We were asked to fill up forms for "insurance" and put on life vest which we thought were pretty stupid cos we were on a huge boat and we all look silly with lifevest le.. what can happen? capsized? haha no way la... the boat look so big and safe.. oh we have no idea...

We were on the front deck, the ride started out pretty smooth, we were enjoying the slight breeze and happily taking pictures! I had my digicam out and snapping away while enjoying the "Chua ping". Blurty was standing up infront of us taking pictures and ALL OF A SUDDEN the sea below us disappeared and we flew into the air!!!(ok abit exagerating here but then the boat was really flying in the air la..) HUGE WAVES CAME CRASHING ON BOARD!!! OMG!!! WE'RE GOING TO DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.... Now we know why we need the insurance and the LIFEVEST!!! HAHA DAMN! All of us got so WET and our "Chua ping" is now "Sea water Ping"! DAMN!! The boat just kept on ROCKING like a rollarcoaster for a full 10 minutes or so and water just kept on splashing.. The situation is so funny and scary at the same time. There's no way we can move at all so the only thing we can do is to hang on to our seats for our dear life! I screamed and laughed till i almost gonna cry! "Wo bu yao wan le..I wanna go home..." haha we have no idea this is going to happen and all of us kept on laughing n screaming at the same time. Poor Blurty had a little fall from the first sudden wave. When we finally stopped rocking, we quickly escaped to the back of the boat. We were then introduced to "Goddess of Mercy Mountain" (see pixs in my Flickr album) and soon we're on our way back. Nothing much, the highlight of the boat ride is the scary rollarcoaster waves of Taiwan... haha IDIOT!

- Best Seafood lunch we ever had!! Ex but definitely worth the money!
- Joined J and her dad on a little camping trip out in the nature, beautiful creek and a good break away from the bustling city, too bad my camera batt died and i didnt get to take much pix here..
- Iv the fairy Godfather made a heavenly delivery sending us the BEST TAKOBALLS on earth for supper and from that night onwards we're all hooked!
- "Metal eggs" aka tei dan(yucks!), "Chua ping" aka fruit ice, Takoballs

Day 3
- Shopping n more shopping
- Went to Taipei 101, The living Mall, Miramar Shopping centre and Shilin Night market
- Tried Oyster egg, duck tongue, Hao da chicken chop, oyster mee sua, tian bu la, fried hua zhi(sotong), Takoballs

Day 4
- Shop somemore at XMD and went to GuangHua to get DVDS and VCDS! Got my Hideaki show in DVD and 2 other Jap VCDs for only S$34! cool!
- Met up J again and we had dinner at Shilin
- Shop somemore at shilin after dinner, but we soon surrender and went back to hotel, Shilin is damn big and we didnt even get to finish half of it!
- Oyster egg, prawn egg, Chou Doufu, hua zhi gen, Da bing pao xiao bing, Fried Mushroom(YUM!!!), Takoballs

Last day
- Shop somemore at XMD(seriously it's so big we didnt really finish shopping)
- Hangout at Starbucks and then it's time to proceed to airport.. but before we went off, most impt thing! TAKOBALLS!! haha we got 3 packs to share on the way to the airport.. sobsob! our last chance to taste the crispy takoballs.. and if u havent realised, the takoballs was so good that we had them everyday! haha
- Tried "Pinglang" and it sux! hahaa! dry and bitter..

Anyway i just realised we forgot to check out the marine world at ShiLin, shop and eat until we forgot all about the marine world! haha Food was MARVELLOUS and i thnk all our chinese improved after this trip! haha

Too fast too fast...

This is a fast year.

So many things happened, yet i feel so unaccomplished at the same time. Time just doesnt show any mercy at all doesnt it? Before i realised, another half a year had gone past. Everything is just way too fast or was it just me who's refusing to let reality sink in? It's like a dream where except you didnt realised you're dreaming.

It's worst when there's a kid at home, the speed he's growing up is scary. Today you're you and he's learning how to crawl. You're still you tomorrow but he'd learned how to walk. You're still this damn thing, he's running around and playing in the next room. Before i know it, he gives me kisses and hugs and says goodnite before he goes to bed. He'd just celebrated his 2nd bday today. Some mornings, he'll run into my room and jumped onto my bed, poking my face with his tiny fingers deliberately.. I would hide under my covers refusing to wake up and he would giggle and poke even harder *Ouch*

Message of the day?
It's Time to wake up. You'll always need someone to poke your face to wake you up every now and then.

p/s: I will post up some pictures of the "party" once my sis returns with the camera tomorrow night.

Moth or Butterfly?

How do u distinguish between a butterfly and a moth?? Box was asking me about this, it's just like "what's the difference between SotongCuttlefish and Squid?" (oh no.. here we go again... hahaa)

My guess is that butterflies "clip" their wings together when they rest but moth "displays" their wings flat when they rest. And i guess.. if u see a "flying insect" at night most likely it would be moths, as butterflies are non-nocturnal? (is there such a word? haha) Anyone know wat do they call moths in Mandarin? Hanyupinyin > "Er2"?? I thought Er2 is those gigantic moths that you usually see during the 7th Lunar month?? Small triangular moths are call wat?? hmm....

Box this is for you to read! hee! Read more from Wikipedia Difference btw moths & Butterflies

Quote From Wikipedia,
"A moth is an insect closely related to the butterfly. Both are of the order Lepidoptera.
People who study butterflies and/or moths are called lepidopterists; the study of butterflies is known as butterflying, and the study of moths mothing...

... Moths are apparently attracted to light, or more specifically, are known to circle bright objects. The reason for this behaviour is not known..."

Btw this Wikipedia.org is really interesting! You can find out just about ANYTHING in the world. It's like an online encylopedia! For more on singapore "history", search fullname of LKY and LHL and you will read up alot of things about them that is normally not known to young singaporeans. Search "Chad Murray" and u get this!!! Search for "idiot" and you will get this!

Oh ok if u are still cracking your head thinking about "what's the difference between SotongCuttlefish and Squid?" Simple do a search and you will get this(squid) and this(cuttlefish)! haha if only this website exists when we are having this earlier debate, and with this all mysteries of the universe will be solved!? WAHAHAA!

*update*
I will never look at starbucks logo the way i used to look at it anymore after reading this.. haha
